The pastor shall nominate persons to the Quarterly Conference for the Office of Steward. The Quarterly Conference will confirm or reject the nominees. It shall be the duty of the Stewards to make in conjunction with the Stewardesses, an estimate of appropriations for the pastor. The Stewards are to keep an accurate account of the money collected or other provisions made for the support of the ministry. To keep an accurate record of money spent by the church, for all purposes.
The pastor shall nominate persons for the office of the Stewardess to the Quarterly Conference for confirmation or rejection. The duties of Stewardesses are: To serve the table of the Lord. To serve the table of the poor. To serve the table of the ministry. To assist in collecting, the General Funds. To work in conjunction with the Board of Stewards.
The pastor shall nominate persons to the Quarterly Conference for the Office of Trustee. The Quarterly Conference will confirm or reject the nominees. The Trustees as a board shall hold all property, real, personal and mixed owned by the charge; and other such property as may be committed to their keeping. The Trustees shall make the property of the church accessible to the pastor and other duly authorized ministers of the C.M.E. church. The Board of Trustees shall insure that all property of the local church is properly titled and held in trust for the C.ME. Church.
Local Board of Christian Education
The board consists of the Pastor, Director of Christian Education, and the General Superintendent of the Sunday School, the President of the Young Adult Council, the President of the Christian Youth Fellowship, and representatives of other boards and auxiliaries: The Board organizes and administers the educational ministry and activities of the church. The Director of Christian Education shall be appointed by the Pastor and confirmed by the Quarterly Conference.
The Sunday Church School
The School provides training for members of the church in the love and knowledge of God and Jesus Christ, and in the meaning and understanding of the Bible as God’s word. The teaching ministry at the Sunday School shall be divided into the age categories of children, youth, young adults and adults. The General Superintendent is the administrative officer of the Sunday Church School and nominated by the Pastor and presented to the Quarterly Conference for confirmation.
Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF)
The C.Y.F. trains young people in Christian living and to enrich their lives through Worship, bible study, discussions, Christian service, recreation and functions and responsibilities of the church. This group consists of Boys and Girls ages 12-17.
Young Adult Council
This group consists of the officers of all Young Adult organizations of the church. The council shall coordinate all of the activities of the Young Adult Ministries. Ages are 18 to 35.
The Women’s Missionary Society
The Society encourages cooperation, fellowship, mutual counsel concerning the spiritual life and religious activities of the Christian Church. They are to discover the mission and unity of the Women’s Missionary Council. The President of the Society is presented by the Pastor to the Quarterly Conference for confirmation.
The Commission on Membership and Evangelism
The Commission works in cooperation with the Pastor, Presiding Elder and District leaders in spreading the “Good News” of Jesus Christ and enhancing the spiritual life of the congregation. The responsibilities of the Commission consist of Organizing classes for new members; Reception or fellowship for new members; Update membership records; Organize Visitation Evangelism visits and other duties requested by the Pastor. They also organize special programs with the membership of the church. The Commission is composed of representatives of the various ministries of the church including the youth & young adults. The officers should consist of an elected or appointed Chairperson and elected Vice Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.
Department of Lay Ministry
The Department of Lay shall be responsible for the program of the lay ministry in the Church in accordance with the objectives and structure outlined by the General Department of Lay Ministry. Any member of the church can join the Dept. of Lay Ministry. Upon joining, such persons will be given a membership card. The department shall be under the direction of the Lay leader elected by the Lay Department membership.
Choirs and Personnel
In the Worship of God, singing plays a prominent role. There shall be one or more Choirs in every church. There shall be a president of each choir who shall be a member of the C.M.E. Church. There shall be a church instrumentalist chosen by the members or Pastor and officers.

Board of Ushers
The duties of the Ushers shall be to admit people to the House of Worship, attend to their comfort while they are there. Perform other duties during the Worship service assigned by the Pastor and adheres to the usage of books on ushering that may be prescribed for use of the CME Church. They shall elect their own officers.

Social Concerns Ministry
This organization has the responsibility of educating the congregation toward a maturing Christian concern for human relations and social issues. The Committee expresses social concerns through social education, social service, and social action in our church and community.
Ministry to Men
This organization is responsible for developing and promoting throughout our church and community an effective Christian Ministry to Men.
This group works in conjunction with the Trustees to maintain good condition of the Church property and aid with other Trustee functions. Consist of Church members.
Their responsibility is to accommodate the needs of the Pastor. Compose of Church members.
During Worship Services and other Church functions, the I.T. Team is responsible for providing information on our TV monitor such as the Affirmation of faith, Scriptures, Williams Temple News, Videos and other information that is requested.
This group provides comfort and medical attention to members when needed during any Church function.
Scholarship Awards Committee
This committee was organized to assist high school graduates who were accepted to an institution of higher learning, in acquiring needed items – books and other educational materials.
Students graduating from elementary and middle schools were also given a small award to encourage them to keep their eyes on “that diploma”. All students are encouraged to submit applications if they want to be recognized in our booklet for their good and improved accomplishments.
In order to receive monetary awards, students must be a member of Williams Temple C.M.E. Church and regularly attend worship services and/or participate in our many youth activities.
The recognition program is usually held in early Fall.
This organization leads the congregation and community to attend to their physical, mental and spiritual health. They offer direct services and education to people of all ages, so that their lives may become whole.
